It’s that time of year again when a girl wants to look her best, stand out in a crowd, and get all the coolest throws possible.  Yes, parade season is happening and really goes into full swing this Saturday with Krewe Du Vieux.  As many New Orleanians realize the weather can be rather unpredictable, so it’s important to have a game plan.  I’m going to walk you through a outfit idea few ideas for my favorite parades.

Muses is my favorite by far.  Rolling out on the Thursday before Mardi Gras day, this all female krewe has some of the best throws, the most coveted lavishly decorated Muses shoe.

For Muses it’s worth getting the tickets to be in the stands so the lovely ladies of Muses can see how gorgeous you look in one of our pieces from the Blue Ribbed Rayon collection.  Blue is the signature color for Muses, and you’ll stay warm and gorgeous in a Fontaine Coat Dress.  If for some reason it happens to be a warmer evening (stranger things have happened, y’all), a Bitsy Belle in Blue Ribbed Rayon is an excellent alternative with some black tights.  I hate to tell you to accessorize too much, because I feel like the Muses will help you with all those choice bead they’re going to be hurling at you.

Orpheus is one of the most beautiful parades and rolls on Lundi Gras.  This music based krewe has so many beautiful fiber optic floats and is a must-see.  The theme for Orpheus this year is The Wizard’s Bestiary, so get wild with some leopard print.  An Annette Mini in our leopard will give you optimal range of motion while flailing your arms in the air as you exclaim, “Throw me somethin’, mister!”  Pair it with a matching headband for maximum cuteness that will have all the the float riders chunking goodies in your direction.  Add a pair of sam’s pettipants in the event that you must reach for a rogue doubloon or cup on the ground.

For Mardi Gras day there is so much happening from Zulu to the Saint Anne walking parade that it can be a real chore figuring out what to wear while out on the town.  You can never go wrong with any piece from the Grand Fleur collection on Mardi Gras day. A Lena blouse and a Gathered mini in Grand Fleur will have you Mardi Gras ready.  Pair with a beautiful mask of your choice and a fascinator, and you’re ready for action.  This outfit is ideal for dancing in the streets, revelry, and excessive king cake consumption (thanks cotton stretch!).
