Happy Thursday, divas! This week on Meet the Fans we’re chatting with Theresa, an Austin-based bombshell who’s full of sass and style!
Hey Theresa! How long have you been shopping with Trashy Diva?
I’ve been a customer since 2013.
Where are you from, and where do you live now?
I’m from Anaheim, CA, but now I reside in Austin, TX.
What do you do for a living?
I’m a Software Sales Representative!
I love the idea of you wearing a fancy frock while slinging software to the new silicon valley! What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m really into photography, and I love photo preservation/archiving. I’m also super active; I do flat track roller derby, and love hiking/climbing. I like to travel, and spend a lot of time training my Great Pyrenees Mountain dog for pet therapy (she and I volunteer as a team to visit with elderly folks, wounded veterans, or children in hospitals or long term care facilities).
I love that! If you’re ever in the neighborhood, feel free to bring you baby by the Trashy Diva office 😉 – so, how did you find out about Trashy Diva originally?
A derby friend of mine recommended TD due to my love of pin up style, and I stopped into the Royal St. shop on a trip to New Orleans in 2013. I bought two dresses that felt amazing and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Confession time! Just HOW MANY Trashy Diva pieces do you own?
150 pieces – give or take.
What do you love most about Trashy Diva as a company?
The customer service is absolutely stellar! .
What is your #1 favorite Trashy Diva item, and why?
It’s hard for me to narrow it down to just one, as there are so many pieces that make me feel extremely sexy, powerfully feminine, and polished. I stand a little taller, allow the sway of my hips to do their thing as I walk with a bit more swagger, for once being proud of my cleavage instead of shy. You know that Roy Orbison song “Pretty Woman”? That seems to play on repeat in my head every time I put on a Trashy Diva garment.
If you could only save three pieces of your Trashy Diva collection from a fire, what would you choose?
Red Water Lilies, Turquoise Floral, and Cactus Rogue…then I might battle the fire for the rest of them! I love all my pieces so much.
If you could be gifted one piece of Trashy Diva that you don’t currently own (from any era or collection) what would it be and why?
Pearl Harbor Day Dress or Trixie Mini, or Turquoise Floral Sandy.
Who do you look to for style inspiration?
There are so many glamours starlets of the golden age of Hollywood that I could name for you. My Grams and I watched a lot of old movies together and I love them all! However, my style inspiration comes directly from my family history. Priceless photographs that I’ve preserved of my Great-Grandma who passed away when I was 9 and my Grams (Grandma) who is still alive and kicking at 86. I’ve attached a pic of the two of them in 1946. Both these women had phenomenal style on conservative means. My Great-Grandma was a registered nurse her entire career and my Grandma was an engineering assistant. These two women not only had a fair hand in raising me, they passed along to me their strength, their fiery personalities, their intelligence, their kindness, their patience, and their love.
I love that you keep your family so close to your heart – and your style! Is there anything else you want to share before we sign off?
Austin, TX seems like a Sister-City to New Orleans, I am thankful that I live close enough to the Big Easy to make a couple trips there annually. When I do a trip, Trashy Diva is always on the agenda!
We can’t wait to see you next time you’re in town, Theresa! Until next time, divas, have a wonderful weekend and stay stylish!
