Hello delightful divas! It’s the middle of the week, and you know what that means: it’s time for another edition of Meet the Fans! Each week, we’ll be featuring one of our incredible customers on the blog, learning about her life and stealing her style tips. This week, we’re featuring the phenomenal Roxane!
Happy Thursday, Roxane! How long have you been shopping at Trashy Diva?
Three years in March!
Where are you from, and where do you live now?
I was born in the suburbs of Montreal in Canada, and moved to New Jersey when I was 12 years old. I now live in Neptune, NJ right along the Jersey Shore.
What do you do for a living?
I’m a medical biller for a facility that diagnoses sleep disorders, which allows me to wear my beautiful dresses every day (see picture below)!
Any favorite hobbies or pastimes?
I’m a homebody; I live with my boyfriend of 10+ years and our rescued pit bulls Ginger & Opie. I love to cook, bake, can my own jam, and garden. Living so close to the beach, I do a fair amount of cycling, and lounging at the beach in the summer months. We love good food and drinks, we try to visit New Orleans once a year.
I’m super jealous that you live so close to the beach! How did you find out about Trashy Diva originally?
We wandered into the FQ store during my first visit to New Orleans, I was absolutely taken with the Jade Watercolor Liz on a dress form in the doorway. After 3 days of wavering (and my boyfriend insisting), I finally caved and purchased it.
Confession time! Just HOW MANY Trashy Diva pieces do you own?
According to my hand-dandy Pinterest board, 76 (including separates).
What do you love most about Trashy Diva as a company?
The fit and quality of the garments. Being quite petite, I have always had a hard time finding clothes that I love and that love me back! Before TD I was stuck shopping in the Juniors’ department OR having to alter everything I bought from more mature stores. This made it incredible difficult to have any sense of style.
What is your #1 favorite Trashy Diva item, and why?
My crepe Myrtle Lena romper, it’s so comfortable and versatile! The print is gorgeous, it’s dressy but I can still ride my bicycle in it.
If you could only save three pieces of your Trashy Diva collection from a fire, what would you choose?
Blue Poppies country club, Walk in the park, Red Roses Varga (Only because I’m anticipating that I’ll be wearing my CM romper hahaha!)
If you could be gifted one piece of Trashy Diva that you don’t currently own (from any era or collection) what would it be and why?
Something in Silk Dragon (the black and brown with red band) – you could surprise me with any cut, id be over the moon!
Who do you look to for style inspiration?
Audrey Hepburn, and the cast of Mad Men (that series will never get old for me!)
Anything else you’d like to share?
I just want to thank TD for making clothes for women of all sizes. There truly is a cut/style/print for everyone. They say that the clothes don’t make the man, but I think that a great dress can boost a woman’s confidence ten fold!
It was wonderful to talk with you, Roxane! I’m truly intimidated by your Trashy Diva collection (76 pieces!) and thrilled that you took the time to share your life and your style with us! Until next time, my lovelies – have a wonderful rest of your week!
