My name is Lauren W. or LJ, and I’m the Warehouse Associate at Trashy Diva.
How long have you worked at Trashy Diva?
I’ve worked at Trashy Diva for about four months now.
When you’re not at Trashy Diva, how do you like to spend your time?
When I’m not at Trashy Diva, I like to read, take pictures, have staring contests with my cat, explore southern Louisiana, and draw.
What do you love most about living in New Orleans?
I love how New Orleans has traditions for almost every day of the year, the different neighborhoods with their own cultures, the food, and how people appreciate having a good time here.
Which do you prefer… Halloween or Mardi Gras?
Halloween, the best day of the year.
If you could have any super power, which would you have?
I would like the Jedi power, as it seems the most complete.
Confession time! Just HOW MANY Trashy Diva pieces do you own?
I own seven Trashy Diva pieces at this point. I’m trying to pace myself, but it’s difficult!
If you could only save 3 Trashy Diva pieces from a fire, which ones would you pick?
The Courtney Coat Dress in Black Stretch, the Liz Dress in Jade Watercolor, and the Streetcar Dress in Black Crepe de Chine.
What’s your favorite book and film? (And which film has the best fashion in it ever?)
I don’t really have a favorite book, but writers, especially Jorge Luis Borges, Edith Wharton, and Fyodor Dostoevsky. My favorite movie is The Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky. I love the style in the movie Chinatown, for men and women.
What film stars or celebrities are your favorite?
Marlene Dietrich, Maria Casares, RuPaul, Kate Moss, and Joanna Lumley.
What are your style inspirations?
Maria Casares, Siouxsie Sioux, old buildings, and photographs; Sophia Loren, Morticia Addams, and the characters fromAbsolutely Fabulous: Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone.
If you could switch closets with any person (living or dead), who would it be and why?
I would switch closets with Coco Chanel; she was such a complex woman with so much talent, and I love her style throughout her life.
