Welcome one, welcome all, to another edition of Meet the Divas! Meet the Divas is your chance to meet the wonderful beauties, babes, and Betties who keep our local & homegrown company moving forward.  This week we’re celebrating our six-month anniversary with this sweet gal, so say hello!

Hey, pretty lady! What’s your name and what’s your job at Trashy Diva? How long have you worked at Trashy Diva?
Oh stop, you make me blush. I’m Liz! I am the warehouse shipper. Basically this means I get the honor of sending beautiful dresses, undies, and other fun things to our fantastic customers all over the world! I’ve been with the company since September, and I’m loving it. I get to work with a bunch of beautiful and brilliant ladies. It’s the best.

What do you love most about living in New Orleans?
There’s a lot to love. I could gush for ages. The people here amaze me. The city itself is one of the most gorgeous in the country. There’s always something new to do and see. I love the food. I love the parks. I even love the oppressively hot summers. It’s been an on-going love affair. I first moved here in 2002 from Meridian, Mississippi.

Which do you prefer… Halloween or Mardi Gras?
Due to the fact that it’s also my mother’s birthday and my affinity for working at haunted houses, I gotta say Halloween.

If you could have any super power, which would you have?
Teleportation all the way. I thought about time travel, but I feel like that’s just too much power.

If you could only save 3 Trashy Diva pieces from a fire, which ones would you pick?
I would have to say my Trixie Dress in the Hurricane print, my Sci Fi Rockets Annette Middy, and the black Cage Dress I wore in my sister’s wedding. Clearly we need to start making flame-retardant dresses so we won’t have to make these decisions.

Confession time! Just HOW MANY Trashy Diva pieces do you own?
So far about a dozen. The only reason I don’t have more right now is because I’m usually overwhelmed by how many beautiful things are around me and am hindered by my indecisiveness.

What’s your favorite dress and/or accessory in the stores right now?
I just told you how indecisive I am! I will say that I’ve been eyeing the Zelda dress. The fringe looks fantastic on the dance floor. As far accessories go, I frequently drool over our Jan Micheals rings; they’re beautiful, collectible, and a very reasonable price.

What are your style inspirations?
Film is my inspiration. Whenever I look at a dress or accessory, I always imagine the type of character who would wear it. Recently the film Only Lovers Left Alive has really caught my eye. My sister told me I needed to watch it, and she was right. It’s gorgeous.

If you could switch closets with any person (living or dead), who would it be and why?
Isabella Blow! She had such a great eye. She was Philip Treacy’s muse and helped Alexander McQueen launch his career. I just want to walk around everyday looking like a high fashion editorial.

What’s your favorite book and film? (And which film has the best fashion in it ever?)
Oh gosh. This is always a tough one. I’m really into non-fiction and biographies lately. The Keith Richards biography was really great. I love David Sedaris. I’m going to have to go old school with this and say that Edith Hamilton’s Mythology is my all time favorite. My mom read to me a lot when I was a kid. I think she ran out of fairy tales, so she read me a lot of Greek/Roman myths. My favorite film changes depending on my mood. I can’t decide, so I’m just going to say that Kubrick is my favorite director. The film I with the best fashion in my opinion is Amadeus.

What film stars or celebrities are your favorite?
Bowie, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave. I’m a sucker for crooners.

When you’re not at Trashy Diva, how do you like to spend your time?
I really like running in City Park and Audubon Park. I just started volunteering at the Aquarium of the Americas, which I’m super excited about. I also love seeing live music, watching horror movies, and adventuring. I also enjoy eating my weight in Vietnamese food and patiently waiting for the next season of Game of Thrones.

I don’t know about y’all, but like Diva Liz, I’m anxious also waiting for the next season of Game of Thrones!  Thanks, Liz, for letting us get to know you better and for the beautiful care you put into our customers packages!
