Hi, divas! Welcome to another edition of “Meet the Divas,” where we step behind the scenes so you can meet the babes who make this company run! Today’s diva has worked on and off with the company since 2009. She’s the retro queen of New Orleans, and it shows in every aspect of her life. Say hello to the gorgeous Diva Leslie!
Hey, pretty lady! What’s your name and what’s your job at Trashy Diva? How long have you worked at Trashy Diva?
Leslie C. I pretty much work everywhere! I’ve been with Trashy Diva since September and worked here previously in 2009 – 2011.
What do you love most about living in New Orleans?
The sound of the streetcars at night.
Which do you prefer… Halloween or Mardi Gras?
Halloween. It’s slightly calmer and more local than Mardi Gras.
Confession time! Just HOW MANY Trashy Diva pieces do you own?
Too many to count, but I’ve been downsizing!
What’s your favorite dress and/or accessory in the stores right now?
I’m currently really in love with the Ruby Middy cut, I have them all!
If you could only save 3 Trashy Diva pieces from a fire, which ones would you pick?
Olivia Bird, Joan Stud, and Hurricane Ladies Day Dress.
What are your style inspirations?
The amazing movies of the 40s and 50s. I’m a sucker for old Hollywood.
If you could switch closets with any person (living or dead), who would it be and why?
Diana Vreeland. She spent all of the 1940s to the 1960s at Harpers Bazaar and Vogue, so her closet must have been amazing.
What’s your shopping method/M.O.?
I stick to mainly vintage and one of a kind, however if I love something, I’ll buy it in every color.
What’s your favorite book and film? (And which film has the best fashion in it ever?)
My favorite book is Rules of Civility, and my favorite movie is Now Voyager. I think Ziegfeld Girl is the best for fashion, all those costumes!
What film stars or celebrities are your favorite?
Bettie Davis, Jimmy Stewart, Gene Tierney, and Myrna Loy.
When you’re not at Trashy Diva, how do you like to spend your time?
I’m a homebody. I spend my off time reading, usually with my dog, Dottie, curled up by my side.
Thanks, Leslie, for giving us a glimpse into your vintage-loving lifestyle!
