Trashy Diva to Donate 10% of Weekend Sales to Texas Diaper Bank
This weekend your Trashy Diva shopping experience will directly benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey. As a New Orleans-based company, Trashy Diva is no stranger to the harrowing process of recovering from a disaster. This personal knowledge has inspired us to find as many ways as possible to help our neighbors in the midst of rebuilding their lives following an unexpected tragedy.
Many Texas families have been displaced from their homes and may not be able to return for a long period of time. In disaster relief efforts, shelters provide food and water, but not always diapers. This can be a real problem for parents with young children. The Texas Diaper Bank, proud partner of the National Diaper Bank Network, has issued an urgent request for donations, stating that diapers are not provided by disaster relief agencies. The diaper bank will be distributing emergency diaper kits to affected families.
Since 1997 the Texas Diaper Bank has been working to meet the basic needs of vulnerable babies, children with disabilities and seniors. This hardworking organization’s mission is to address the diaper gap and its impact on individuals in crisis. Last year alone, the Texas Diaper Bank partnered with 26 nonprofit agencies and served over 14,000 children in 10 counties. The organization distributed 1,121,422 baby items, diapers, and incontinence supplies with a staff of 8 full time employees, 12 board members, and 2,800 volunteers.
Trashy Diva is proud to assist the Texas Diaper Bank by donating 10% off all sales from all locations to the Texas Diaper Bank Saturday, September 2nd and Sunday, September 3rd to help begin the long road to recovery.
Our neighbors, friends, and customers in Texas graciously showed New Orleans generosity after Hurricane Katrina. Now, we have the opportunity to pay it forward. Stay tuned for more Hurricane Harvey relief efforts from Trashy Diva.
