If you’ve shopped in our stores lately, you’re probably aware of our recent involvement with Second Harvest Food Bank and its special Food and Fund Drives. Food and Fund Drives address a critical issue in South Louisiana. In 2012, reports placed the New Orleans homeless rate at second in the nation. Those numbers have been greatly reduced in the last few years, and I truly believe it’s due to all the wonderful people who have been willing to help one another in strengthening our community. However, there’s still much to be done, and many hungry mouths to feed in the greater New Orleans area.
This holiday season, the Divas did our part by hosting a food drive in each of our boutiques. During the month of December, we encouraged our customers to help out by dropping off donations at any one of our New Orleans locations. Along with a little help from our employees, we managed to collect over 150 pounds of non-perishable items to be given to the Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans. What a wonderful way to end one year and transition into the next! I want to extend a big thank you to everyone that helped make this drive a success!
Best wishes,
Aubrey
