You’ll feel as classic and timeless wearing the Fontaine Coat as its namesake, Academy Award-winning actress Joan Fontaine. A favorite muse of Alfred Hitchcock, she starred in his films Rebecca and Suspicion, as well as appeared in the iconic films The Women and Jane Eyre. Joan Fontaine’s career spanned over an impressive fifty years, and I’m sure you’ll want the Fontaine Coat Dress to be the star of your winter wardrobe for just as long!

Inspired by Victorian riding coats, the Fontaine Coat Dress has a tailored fit to give you that perfect hourglass shape. Featuring an ultra-flattering 1950’s silhouette, your waist will be clearly defined by the black velvet belt and highlighted by the full, pleated skirt. The elegant ribbed rayon fabric, with beautiful black velvet trim, adds subtle texture that really sets this coat apart. Black velvet overlay on the cuffs and collar complete this retro look.

The Fontaine Coat Dress is currently available in three fabulous new colors – Dark Blue, Red, and Black. This knee length “princess-style” coat is perfect to layer over your favorite Trashy Diva dresses, or is perfect all by itself. Whether you wear it as dress or a coat (we recommend sizing up one if you do!), it’s impossible to go wrong!

Fun Fact! Frances Conroy’s character, Gloria Mott, wore the Fontaine Coat Dress in Olivine Ribbed Rayon in an episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show. However, I would recommend accessorizing with a lovely clutch instead!
