Before booty-baring bikinis were all you could find in stores, bathing suits were a little more tasteful. Through the years, swimsuits have definitely come to require less and less material. With that being said, let’s go back to the 1940s and ’50s for a moment, where two-pieces were tame, involving just a bit of midriff and more modest halter tops, and one-pieces were created to enhance hourglass curves while still leaving something to the imagination. I am beyond happy that it’s possible to find this style of swimwear at Trashy Diva, so us gals can feel confident, cute, and just the right amount of covered up while at the pool or beach!

Here are a few of my personal favorite styles that you’ll see me sporting at the country club this summer:

I absolutely adore my Esther Williams Classic Solid Two-Piece Swimsuit. It’s very sexy yet still provides plenty of coverage. Plus, this emerald green color reminds me of the tropics!

Another favorite is the Fables by Barrie Rita Swimsuit. The ruching on the front is very forgiving, and underwire-supported cups enhance the bust quite nicely. I find that this suit looks great on a variety of body types.

Lastly, I feel ultra cute and like a sassy retro pin-up in the Lucy B Cherry Pie Top and Highwaist Bottom. The small faux pockets placed on the hips add to the playful vibe of this swimsuit, and who can resist a cute cherry pattern?!

Happy summer, divas!
